Time flies fast. Our Freestyle cooking event became to an event No.5. This time we would make English-Scottish dishes for a celebration of declaration that Scotland will stay united with the United Kingdom. We planned to make : Starter- Scotch broth , Main- Cottage pie served with buttered green beans, roasted carrots with honey and sesame seeds , Dessert- Shortbread with whipped cream and a raspberry coulis. Let’s check it out…..
Cooking is joy. Cooking is fun! There are so much to learn about cooking. Even I love to make Thai dishes. But I am eager to learn some new culinary as well. So I was not hesitated when Sam offered to make English dishes.
We started with dessert- Shortbread. It was my first time to know that it is not hard at all to make it. But you have to measure ingredients precisely. I did all processes from , measuring , mixing , flatting , cutting , and putting it in the oven. But there was no my picture in it as I am the photographer.
Fun fun fun…. another secret I found when we finished our dessert was that the right tempreture! The top of the oven which had lower heat made a perfect shortbread. While the middle row of oven gave us a bit dark shortbread.
After we got the baked shortbread. It was a time for putting the cream on top and decorated them. This process was like doing an art class which I am an awful drawer. What do you think about my shortbread?
Finally , this picture is perfect described our group! It’s freestyle. So it does not have to be the same. You could tell my looking at our shortbread , every piece was unique!
