The first time I travelled alone was about 7 years ago. I resigned from my first routine job and went to Koh Tao. Being on the road on my own was a significant learning curve for me, I still remember the excitement I felt and the shift in my happiness and independence. After the Koh Tao trip, I became addicted to solo backpacking and I’ve not looked back to my 9-5 job ever since.
Actually that trip was not my first time to Koh Tao. The first time I visited the island was a few years previous and I went with my ex-girlfriend. She wanted to go to Koh Nangyuan which is a very beautiful island that has sand either side of the sea, but we had to stay in Koh Tao as there was only choice for accommodation in Koh Nangyuan which was super expensive.
So we went together to the beautiful island. She loved to stay in nice luxury resorts so she spent time relaxing while I went out to explore the island. This might have been one of the reasons we broke up but I’m glad that my ex-girlfriend helped me find my new love; travel.
The second time I visited, I stayed in a bungalow 20 times less expensive than the first but I still went to snorkel in the same resort I stayed in before. I found it was much nicer to travel in a budget style, with far more exciting experiences and loads of activities and challenges to overcome. I made many international friends during the trip, two of them were Susan and her mom who were from China.
I haven’t had a chance to explore all around Koh Tao island until now. I have the opportunity to go again but this time I will travel and work at the same time! I can’t wait to complete my mission to write the full travel guide to go to Koh Tao. This is an exciting time and I will do nothing but my best!
I love Koh Tao and I will never get bored of this island. I would visit Koh Tao over and over again as every time I go the weather is different and no experience is the same. I have been to Koh Tao (Turtle island) two times. But I’m still eager to explore this wonderful place in more depth.

P.s.The reason I used facebook back in 2007 was because my computer had a virus and all the pictures from my first Koh Tao trip were gone. I was very sad about this so I registered with facebook as a second backup of my pictures. All of the photos in this post are from my facebook photo album.
