Dry Spiced Daal

Yellow mung bean 1 cup

Mustard seed 1 tsp.

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Asofoetida (heeng) 1/4 tsp.

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.

Cilli powder 1/2 tsp.

Ginger chopped 2 tsp.

Red Onion chopped 2 tbsp.

METHOD

Soak Daal in water for one hour.

Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger and asofoetida,onion, turmeric powder, chilli powder and soaked daal. Salt to taste.

Now add one cup water. Let water come to boil.

Cover   and simmer for about  20 minutes on low heat, till dry.

Keep the pan covered (use thick bottomed pan).

Garnish with coriander, chopped onions. Sprinkle lemon juice.
