Seven years ago I made the decision to quit a routine job and begin my journey around the world. I had no idea that I would start with the continent ‘down under’.
Australia was quite far away from my country and in my imagination it was a world away. But at last I ended up hanging out with the laid back Aussies who could kick back and chill out all day amongst beautiful nature and I had the unforgettable experience of host networks.
My adrenaline was rushing again but this time it wasn’t about activities like Skydiving or Bungee Jumping! In fact it was quite the opposite; we had to stay still and be quiet for as long as we could. It was the time to watch one of the world’s rarest birds, the Yellow-eyed Penguin!!!
“Really? You bought a car for just NZ$1,000 and sold it for a profit. That sounds unreal!!!”
That was the reaction of Santiago, the Argentinian guy who stayed with me at Lyn’s house. He travelled New Zealand for months before crossing the water to Australia in 2010. Infact he had just sold his car before he met me one month later.
How many times do I have to say thank you to Cheryl and Karl , my super nice hosts in Te Kao ( almost the northern tip of New Zealand ). It was worth working hard in exchange for this unforgettable lifetime experience…. The Great Exhibition Bay!!!
